Cherry country and the Gaslight District
Traverse City sits at the head of Grand Traverse Bay and is the largest city in the northern Lower Peninsula. Known as the Cherry Capital of the World, it hosts the National Cherry Festival each July. Petoskey, a Victorian-era resort city on Little Traverse Bay, is the seat of Emmet County.
